A pure expression of varietal Pinot Gris which is reminiscent of the freshest bowl of summer fruit salad with wonderful fragrances of honeysuckle and peach blossom.
Sourced from the Wangolina vineyard, 2018 was a cool ripening vintage which is well suited to growing of aromatic white varieties. The cooler conditions give an emphasized fruit character to the grapes. Handpicked and whole bunch pressed, the Pinot Gris is treated with care to prevent over extraction of phenolics. 15% of the juice is naturally fermented in old French oak barriques. This gives the wine complexity and palate structure. The remaining portion is tank fermented to preserve and enhance the fresh fruit, and spice characters. The two portions are blended just prior to bottling.
