Bright purple in colour, this unique blend of Grenache (60%), Tempranillo (20%) and Shiraz (20%) brings together the best of France's Rhone region, Spains Rioja and Australia. The nose shows examples of cherry compote, meaty flavours and spice. Palate wise the wine displays layers of texture with chalky tannins. In flavour terms, there are hints of cherry, plum and game. A great meat wine!
The Citrine Chardonnay shows this philosophy with about 30% of the wine being fermented in new French oak for complexity with the balance being a pure fruit expression of the vineyard.
Tatty Road contains 30% Petit Verdot which is much more than a typical Bordeaux blend, but Mike likes the structure it brings to a wine. Halliday must agree giving the wine 94 points in his most recent Wine Companion.
