Brookland Valley Verse 1 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc (2009)
Brookland Valley was established in 1984 with the help of wine experts Brian Croser and Tony Jordan. They decided to concentrate only on the varieties that flourish in Margaret River; Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc & Semillon. It is a philosophy that has served them well as they are now one of the more highly regarded wineries in the region. Brookland Valley is currently rated as a 5 star winery by James Halliday and was named 'Winery of the Year' in his 2009 Australian Wine Companion.
Brookland Valley is now owned by Constellation Wines Australia which has enabled them to make the super-value Verse 1 range.
This is lovely summer drinking. It's bursting with fresh lemon and lime but is superbly balanced and quite delicate with just the perfect amount of acid to give it crispness without being too tart. It's the quintessential Western Australian Classic Dry White and super impressive for the price tag.
