Skillogalee Rose

Skillogalee Rose (2010)

Skillogalee was established in 1970 with the first wines released in 1976. The 1978 dry riesling won major trophies at the Adelaide Wine Show and the National Wine Show, putting Skillogalee firmly on the Australian winemaking map. The vineyard is now quite mature and at almost 500 metres altitude is one of the highest and coolest in the Clare Valley. Skillogalee remain one of the benchmark Riesling producers in the country but also make excellent red wines.

Easily one of the more impressive roses we've seen lately. It's a fuller style made from Cabernet and Malbec with raspberry and cranberry on the nose. The palate is fresh and lively, held together by a fine structure of natural acid and soft tannin balance.
