Shaw and Smith were one of the pioneers of Sauvignon Blanc in the Adelaide Hills which has clearly become Australia's premier Sauvignon Blanc region. This is a fine and precise wine when some from this variety can be a bit clumsy and obvious. This translates to a delicate herbaceousness beneath the tropical fruit and an acidity that truly seems part of the wine rather than an after thought.
