Apart from being hoteliers with many hotels in South Australia the Johnston's have significant plantings of vines at Oakbank in the cool Adelaide Hills. They have a wine making association with another winemaker with vines at Oakbank, David O'leary of O'Leary Walker.

Johnston Oakbank has some passionfruit and gooseberry punch with crisp acidity. A fine example of what is making the Adelaide Hills famous.
